About Me

CURRENT MISSION

At the moment my goal in life is to experience as much as possible. There is beauty in every experience whether it be food, art, friends, culture, landscape, music.. anything that excites the senses is beautiful and i want to experience that beauty.

ABOUT ME

I am fun loving, easy going and full of smiles :) open to any experience and happy to create long lasting friendships and connections where ever I may be in the world. I believe in saying yes to new challenges and opportunities, that only through new experiences do we grow and become more of who we are. I will never say no to trying something new no matter what it is unless ofcourse its immoral or illegal. I am a great fan of beuty and believe it is present in every aspect of our lives, whetehr it be a physical object, a emotional connection, or a intellectual notion.. i love all art and wish to sketch as much as possible while i travel, as well as experiencing all the cultural nuances of each area i travel to. I am a true wonderer in many ways, i never plan more than the next country i will be heading to and i carry a 30 kg backpack including my swag(bed roll/tent) where ever i go as i enjoy freedom in its entirety when i am truely able to rid myself of reliance on comfort and technology.

PHILOSOPHY

I have three main philosophies..

Buon Vento Eterna(eternal good winds)

Be Ye Prudent(as prudence is a shield against foolishness)

I am the alpha, The omega.. creation incarnate.
(I am a firm believer in the fact that we create our own reality, this line is a bit of a half joke, half truth its something that has evolved over time for me.. obviously it would be silly to think that we can will into existence objects or physical manifestations. However personal outlook certainly shapes our life and personally I believe that I create an amazing existence full of love, light and laughter)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only recently learned of this site and believe it is something amazing throughout my life i have always been willing to open my home to friends and strangers. Due to my upbringing(never living in one place for more than 6 months at a time) i learned quickly to make new friends and to be open and trusting of others. My father works in regional areas of australia which often have the need for fly in fly out workers and as such we were always welcoming new people in to our home for atleast a meal and a night of conversation.. more often than not leading to them sleeping on the couch. This has made me often invite people that have chanced in to my life to my home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I have said in other areas of the profile I have practiced the principles of couch surfing through out my whole life both as a surfer and as a host, but not through a site such as this. I believe in saying yes to opportunities that present themselves i think i can explain this most simply through a recent story...

In Queensland, Aus where I have been based most recently I had been studying and working part-time in a bottle shop. A group of people came in to the store at about 9 pm, there was in total 11 people ranging from about 20-26 a mix of both males and females, as they walked through the store choosing the drinks they wanted they were talking and laughing I noticed quickly that they were positive, excited and fun. I started talking to two of the group, as they had reached the counter first and they started telling me their story.. As it happens they were a group of volunteers that had traveled from interstate to help in the area due to the recent flooding that had occurred which had greatly effected many people in the area and as such they were looking for a caravan park in the area from which they could base themselves. Being that it was late and there was only one caravan park in the area which I couldn't explain how to get to I offered for them to say at my home for one night in order to sort themselves out and get organised. After finishing work we all drove back to my house and set them up, mostly they were prepared for camping so we had tents and camper vans in the back yard and the spare rooms full with the others.. after a great night of talking and getting to know each other i offered for them to stay for as long as they liked.. during that time(which ended up being ten days) we all went out volunteering and helping those effected by the floods in the evening we would sit and talk, sing and drink, express idea's and ideals and generally get to know each other... it was awesome fun and I've made 11 friends that will always be a part of my life. as i write this now, 7 months after the event i am actually sitting in one of the 11's homes in Victoria at the kitchen table while she is at work and i prepare for the next leg of my journey... Europe.

Interests

I am intersted mainly in beauty, which to some would seem verry vain. but it is not vanity once one realises that there is beauty in everything. In every person there is limitless beauty whether this is aesthetic or intellectual, artistic or philisophical or more often than not a mixture of all these things. the same can be said for nearly anythign one encounters whether it be art, music, food, recreation.. as such my interests are broad, varied and constantly changing. But certainly culture can some up my interests quite well.. music and art are great loves of mine although i do not create music, i do create art.

Music, Movies, and Books

music - I rarely dislike music although im not a grate fan of RnB, Jazz and Soul... pretty much anything that makes me want to move, or express myself in some way is good in my books.. i love dance music(fidget house, french tech, minimal, breakbeat, drumm n bass) metal(progressive bands like "protest the hero" "isetmyfreindsonfire".. i do not play music but always love experinceing it. often i find myself truely happy when im in a nightclub/rave.. or moshpit :).
books - I love to read well written books but am not always reading by any means, I enjoy fantasy books(robin hobb, raymond e fiest, david gammel).. political/classical thought provoking books such as .. "animal farm, 1984, the picture of dorian gray) and gonzo journalism(fear and loathing in los vegas, or really anything by Hunter S Thompson)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have alot of trouble deciding on one thing that stands out amongst all the experiences I had.. but am very willing to sit and share stories when prompted(or not.. I often talk alot) by others :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have grown up in a holistic family which has lead to alot of knowledge on personal growth, metaphysical therapies, and holistic therapies.

I have studied architectual/industrial design as well as drafting and drawing and am well versed with computer and manual design techniques.

Contract work and physical labour are often part of my work and i am quite well acquainted with it.

Id love to learn languages as I travel as well as see as much art and architecture as possible.
