À propos de moi

Hey! I’m Sergen — an English teacher from Istanbul.
I spend my days helping students enjoy learning, and my evenings exploring new places, new people, and good conversation. I'm the kind of guest who blends in easily, respects the house rules, and genuinely enjoys contributing positive energy to any home.

I love discovering cities through local eyes. If you host me, expect someone who’s curious, easygoing, tidy, and always up for sharing stories. I’m 200 cm tall, but don’t worry — I only use my height for reaching the top shelves and making people laugh.

I’m on Couchsurfing to meet inspiring people, learn from different cultures, and build friendships that outlast the trip. I don’t need luxury — just honesty, kindness, and a warm vibe.

If you enjoy good coffee chats, cultural exchange, and calm but fun company, we’ll get along great.
Looking forward to crossing paths! 🌍

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I’m here because I believe the best way to understand a city is through the people who actually live it. Hotels give you a room; Couchsurfing gives you a story.
I love meeting open-minded people, sharing culture, laughing over small things, and leaving a place a little better than I found it. If we become friends along the way, that’s the real win.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I listen to a wide mix of music — from indie rock and soft electronic to calm acoustic tracks. Anything with emotion and a good melody gets my attention. On quiet nights I go for ambient or lo-fi; on energetic days, I switch to alternative rock. Music sets the mood for everything I do.

When it comes to movies, I love stories that stay with you long after you finish them. I usually go for character-driven dramas, clever sci-fi, and feel-good international films. I’m always open to recommendations — discovering a host’s favorite movie is one of my favorite parts of Couchsurfing.

Books are my slow-travel companions. I read a lot of contemporary fiction, philosophy, and personal development. I enjoy books that challenge my thinking or simply give me a new perspective on people and life. I’m the type who always carries a book in my backpack “just in case.”

If you’re into music swaps, movie nights, or talking about books over coffee, we’ll get along perfectly.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

One amazing thing I’ve done was helping one of my students, who used to struggle with English, gain enough confidence to speak fluently in front of the whole school. Watching someone transform through encouragement and consistency reminded me why I love teaching — and it’s still one of the moments I’m most proud of.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I love sharing what I know — especially languages. As an English teacher, I’m always happy to help with pronunciation, daily conversation, or simple tips that make learning easier. If you’re curious about Turkish culture or our unique expressions, I’ve got plenty of fun stories too.

I’m always learning from the people I meet. New perspectives, new foods, new music… anything that shows me how others see the world. That’s what makes travel meaningful for me.

What I enjoy sharing the most are simple moments: cooking together, walking around the city, exchanging playlists, or just having an honest conversation over coffee. I believe the best memories come from small, genuine interactions — and I’m always open to creating those.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I can share good energy, respect, and the kind of company that doesn’t drain the room. I’m clean, organized, and always mindful of your space — I treat every home as if it were my own.

As an English teacher, I’m happy to help with language practice, pronunciation, or small conversational sessions if you’re interested. I also enjoy cooking simple Turkish meals, sharing music, and bringing a bit of my culture into the home.

I love contributing: making coffee in the morning, helping with small tasks, joining you for a walk, or giving you some quiet time if that’s what you prefer. I’m an easygoing guest who adapts quickly.

Most importantly, I offer genuine connection — real conversations, shared stories, and moments that remind us why Couchsurfing is special in the first place.
