About Me

To discover my potential, rediscover my life, experience true adventure, and try to find a future

I'm friendly, a bit silly, a bit crazy, pretty creative, highly ambitious, sometimes naive, definitely free-thinking, very open-minded, conflicted inside (on many things), a dreamer, a born adventurer at heart, and an outlaw in spirit.

I can be up for wild partying, with drinking and rocking and mad times, and I can be up for free-roaming adventure off the beaten path, with all the reflective isolation, natural beauty and exciting exploration that follows.
But I am also just as up for relaxed and enjoyable times spent inside in a place of security and comfort: listening to music, watching films and having a laugh.

My intended career is to be a vocalist in a rock, country or metal band (or a mixture!). This is my highest aspiration. I cannot go for the 9 to 5 rat race.

I'm a free spirit.

“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing” - Helen Keller

“The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure” - Joseph Campbell

“Adventure: the pursuit of life” - Daniel Roy Wiarda

“I learned that the richness of life is found in adventure. . . . It develops self-reliance and independence. Life then teems with excitement. There is stagnation only in security” - William Orville Douglas

“It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves” - Andre Gide

“Traveling is not just seeing the new; it is also leaving behind. Not just opening doors; also closing them behind you, never to return. But the place you have left forever is always there for you to see whenever you shut your eyes" - Jan Myrdal

“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both” - James A. Michener

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

None yet.

However, me and a good friend wish to hitchhike across the USA (mostly in the southern states) later this year, and we have no idea about how we are gonna do it. We need all the help we can get, so if you think you can help - even if its just a bit of advice - please get in contact!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The craziest thing I've done: In a spontaneous, foolhardy, very risky and ridiculous attempt to cure myself from the deepest of ruts, I dropped out of university in 3rd year and left to go to South Africa on my own for 2 weeks, without telling my parents or university. For the lone-wolf-travel-virgin highly lacking in world experience, confidence and sense, and underestimated by everyone (including myself), it was an exhilirating, terrifying, and both character-building and spirit-crushing experience.
But it showed to myself and to others what I was capable of if pushed, and I am stronger for it.
