About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To build a better me!

ABOUT ME

New experiences are the spice that keeps the delicacy of life interesting, fresh and new. I'm always looking for new and interesting things to do and I get bored easily with the same old same old. I want to see everything, smell everything, taste the air the world over.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others how you want to bee treated. A bit of a cliche, but this is really how I like to live my life. Work hard for what you have, but don't be greedy. That's a big one. I attribute much of my good fortune over the years with the way I treat people. Pass kindness along. Hug a tree, leave the world a cleaner place than you found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I don't have an open couch (sorry guys!) but I do love meeting new people. I'd love to show people around town or just meet up for a cup of coffee and a chat! Soon I'll be embarking on my own journey and then I'm definitely going to want to have a good resource for meeting cool, interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a complete novice to Couchsurfing. Hopefully one day I'll be able to pass on wisdom and advice to the ones like me; until then share with me your knowledge, please!

Interests

I'm a lover of books and Outside. I prefer to walk if time allows, but I also just got my first motorcycle and...damn, that is the way to go! I exercise so I can feel good, but I don't always love doing it, haha! I appreciate the value of personal reflection and solitude but love my friends and goods times had therein!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Windup Girl, The Lord of the Rings (books and movies), Watership Down (personal favorite book ever), Wheel of Time, anything Neil Gaiman, A Short History of Nearly Everything, Chronicles of Narnia, The Earthsea Trilogy, His Dark Materials; I like surreal movies a lot, 21 Grams, Momento, 9 Pounds, Moon, Donnie Darko, Artificial Intelligence, Bicentennial Man; Music...Minus the Bear (all time number 1), Foo Fighters, Modest Mouse, The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, Deftones, The Mars Volta, Brand New...the list goes on!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'll never forget when I made the perilous climb to the summit of Pete's Peak in the Wallowa mountain range in Northeast Oregon. The view was an incredible 360 degree panorama of these beautiful mountains. The best part though was, while we were here on this humbling summit, a huge swarm of little white butterflies flew past us. It felt like I was in the midst of something transcendent, like heaven was reaching down and louching me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose the best things I can teach people would be how to deal with people and bring out their own inner strength. I can teach people to value and love themselves and find meaning and passion in their lives.
