Overview
About Me
I'm a Canadian studying in the US, and I'm spending most of the summer in St. Petersburg (trying) to learn Russian. I have a week to travel a bit before my program starts, so I'm just hoping to explore more of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I took a gap year before starting university and spent several months backpacking. My favourite part about traveling was meeting all sorts of people, and that's definitely what I look forward to the most!
Interests
Meeting new people, finding interesting local cafes/bars/restaurants, and attending live music shows. I'm also one of those weird people who actually likes going to museums and lectures, so if you can relate to that, we'll get along great. As a Canadian, I'm pretty much obligated to enjoy outdoorsy stuff like hiking or kayaking, so any suggestions on that front would be great!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Luka Sulic, Imagine Dragons, Hozier, Rachmaninoff, Howard Shore, jazz music with good bass lines
Books: Well I'll read almost anything I can get my hands on, but I lean more towards nonfiction (politics, economics, international relations) or newspapers/journals.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last spring, I entered the Vatican as an atheist. Met the Pope, almost tipped over his golf cart, was possibly part of a mass baptism, and left the Vatican still a heathen.
Teach, Learn, Share
Like I said, I'm trying to learn but I also speak a decent amount of French and Korean if you ever need to practice!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories about visiting hippie/anarchist communes, running into celebrities in Vancouver, and (limited) cooking skills. I can also bring you American products although I'm not sure you would find any of those too interesting.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
