One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen so many amazing things in my life and in my travels. The last thing that amazed me happened yesterday as I was hitch hiking from Amsterdam to Berlin, the people I got a ride from, three different people from three completely different worlds were all so kind and nice, offering me openness, personal stories and wisdom. The first person, a Dutch man, told me all about his traveling period from 20 years ago, about his marriage, his children, the divorce and the new love, offering me perspective and wisdom, he also changed his course and did a 10 miles detour to get me to a place next to the border where I'll easily find my next ride. The next person was a Lithuanian truck driver who couldn't speak a work in English, a rough, hard working man, during the 5 hours we spent together we hardly communicated, but when he stopped for lunch and rest he offered me of his modest meal, explaining with a big smile that the awesome meat balls were made by his wife:-) the next point was in Germany, 30 km from berlin. It was already dark and was hard to find people who go to Berlin as the road I Was on led to Frankfurt. I already was preparing for the option of having to stay the night at the petrol station when the guy working in the station, knowing the chances of getting a ride to Berlin at this time of the day are pretty low came to me and said that if I won't find a ride till he finishes his shift in a hour time he will take me to the airport near by where I could take a train to Berlin.. And so he did..:-) sitting now and reflecting on my adventures getting to berlin, I am greatful for the kindness of these people, who reminded me of how great life is!!
