About Me

To discover new things about myself and the world, and all the wonderful things and people it has to offer

I love to travel. I love to learn. I am a bit of a history geek. I love to dance, eat, cook, talk, listen to live music, read, discover...

I have lived and worked abroad, and done my fair share of travelling. I am back in South America after coming home from a trip around Central America and Brazil a few months ago...

I also write a blog called 'Not all those who wander are lost' to share my travelling stories

To find yourself you've got to lose yourself first...and I guess I'm in the process of losing myself to new adventures and new experiences!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In any way I can!

Before joining CS I had several friends expound and extol the virtues and brilliantness of the CouchSurfing experience and was very excited about getting involved. Since I have surfed in the USA, Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil and it has been fantastic...

I am interested in learning new languages, cultures, foods, histories, getting to know new people, music, art, film and books. I also love to cycle. And I always love a good boogie.

Music, Movies, and Books

Have just finished the biography of Sir Richard Burton, a fascinating man - one of the greatest Victorian explorers who spoke many languages, wrote many books and often travelled in incredible disguises. I enjoy historical fiction such as Isabel Allende, as well as writers such as Zadie Smith and Cormac McCarthy. Always up for recommendations and new styles..

My favourite films include Requiem for a Dream, Goodfellas, Pan's Labyrinth, Pulp Fiction, Amores Perros...and many others...

I have a very eclectic music taste! But in general I guess I tend to go for genres with great bass and beautiful beats...I love reggae, dub, anything with a brass band is fantastic, some house and dubstep, more upbeat drum and bass, UK garage and hip well as chilled beats, funky soul, motown, gypsy folk and gypsy this exact moment I am listening to Belleruche. Lovely.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitch-hiked all the way from London to Morocco with two of my lovely friends - a crazy, amazing, hilarious, wonderful, weird experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I certainly have a few delicious recipes I could share...
