I would sum up myself and my opinion about CS with two quotes:
"If you ask me what I came into this life to do, I will tell you: I came to live out loud." - Emile Zola
Dont' be afreaid of your passions, take care just about living a true and vivid life.
"Viajar, es como nacer y morir constantemente" - Victor Hugo
In english it says something like "traveling is a way of be born and die constantly". To me it means that every single day you wake up during your trip it is like living a different life, like being born again!! New journey, new life :)
~Trying not to sound to philosophical but sometimes I just can't help it ;P ~
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As I don't have my own apartment I haven't been able to host any CS member, but I have participated in the cultural exchange surfing in another countries, being hosted, just going for a drink or showing my city to newcomes!
By now I've surfed in Euskadi (Spain), Heidelberg (Germany) and Prague (Czech Republic) and I can say it has been enough to check the hosts hospitality and the unique experience that traveling by CS offers. A long night conversation in Heidelberg or a little gorgeous earrings our hosts gave us in Prague are just some of the great memories I have compiled :) Thanks to all.
Unexpected experiences, like being move by the art of Anish Kapoor at Guggenheim (Bilbao) or ending up in an amazing view point in Pai (Thailand) without being planned.
Travel, maybe because it is kind of an amount of unexpected experiences!! ;)
Althought it can be seen as a cliché, I do love a good conversation in front of a tea or a cup of coffe. It makes feel alive and connected to the world.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Buddha Collapsed out of Shame which has moved me so much, Big fish as the tender one and Azul Oscuro Casi Negro is a movie that reminds me that life is simple but not easy.
Books: Les misérables - Victor Hugo, Le Deuxième Sexe - Simone de Beauvoir probably they are my favorites ones because I didn't expected to read them, nevertheless, they have taught me a lot, specially Les misérables. Great novel full of meaning and personal growing.
Of course, Harry Potter have also left its mark on me but in a different way and a in a specific moment of my life! ;)
Music: it changes from time to time ;P In fact, while I was living in Ireland I couldn't get out of my head "Brimful of Asha", kind of happy one, but not pretty sure why it marked my trip! And it happens to me often.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dawn in a lonely mountain surrounded by horses.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you ask me what could I bring to my hosts I would say lots of smiles, an easy going person to live with, thoughtful and of course, who loves to listen to your traveling stories ;)
