About Me
I'm a 22 year old guy who was put on this world to explore as much of it as possible!! Currently saving up for what I hope will be a gap break in Australia later on this year. Travel, art, writing, nature, making new friends and daydreaming are just some of my passions in life and I'm very excited to meet people from all corners of the Earth on here to chat with, share stories of our lives and cultures and maybe even meet them in person someday!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling isn't cheap and I'm not wealthy so eschewing pricy hotels for someone's home is not only good for budgeting but also a great chance to get a glimpse of someone else's daily life, house, and culture. I feel personally meeting locals and getting to stay with them is a much rewarding experience.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have an extremely multifarious mix when it comes to music. Everything from Judy Garland to Marilyn Manson lol Some favorite singers/bands are Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Kinks, Dropkick Murphys, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, etc.
Movies: I'm a huge movie buff and even served as a film critic for my high school newspaper so the list is endless. But to give you an idea my all-time favorite film is Pulp Fiction. Best screenplay I've ever heard and as a person who loves writing I like looking to Tarantino as an inspiration
Books: I've actually worked in a bookstore before (I even got to meet Stephen King and Bernie Sanders!) so, again, there's a lot to name. Animal Farm, 1984, (really anything by Orwell) Of Mice and Men, East of Eden, The House on Mango Street, Number the Stars, Wishful Drinking, The Westing Game, Etc. Right now I'm reading American Sideshow about the history of circus freaks and am hoping to read The Handmaid's Tale next!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was very blessed with getting to attend President Obama's Inauguration in 2009. It was one of the most historical moments in my nation's history and I'm so glad I can honestly say I was apart of it. And also on that trip I got to interview Representative Chellie Pingree at her office in the Capitol Building. Another cool thing I got to do was play a drinking game in Kyoto with a pair of geishas. I was one of the only people to win and they gave me a pair of chopsticks as a reward! So that was pretty awesome too
