ABOUT ME

My friends would say that I am outgoing and adventurous. I'm always up to try something new and meet new people. I would say those things are true, but I also like to relax, enjoying good company and good food at home. When I'm in a new place, I love to experience the architecture, history and culture of the city, as well as the outdoor landscapes of the country. I feel like I am a good guest and host. I thoroughly appreciate others' hospitality and I do what I can to reciprocate, even when on a budget. I also love doing touristy things, including in my own city. I still get excited when I have an opportunity to share these things with new people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 15 I went to Mexico and volunteered with community-related projects. Each day a group of us would help a different community. One day we helped provide a bathroom for a public school, the next day we helped fix up a community center and then we helped assemble desks at another school. We loved working side by side with the locals and spending our time with them. On our last day, we received a standing ovation! We were first guided around the corner of the school, then greeted with all the kids standing outside of their classroom and clapping. It was so touching - one of my first and most memorable travel experiences.
