I've moved around all my life so I seem to have trouble keeping still - always wanting to explore and discover new places, as well as new people and even new sides of myself. It makes me feel like I'm really making the most of being a part of this world and I love the sense of freedom it gives me. I live in Barcelona now and work full-time, but whenever I have holidays I try to get away somewhere completely different.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel a lot on my own but I love to meet other people and share experiences. A friend told me this was a great place to cross paths with other travellers, so here I am!
Nature, cultures that are very different to my own, living simply and not depending so much on technology, a bit of yoga and meditation although I'm not very disciplined about it!
Music, Movies, and Books
There's quite a random range but a few music favourites from over the years are... Cocteau Twins, Nightmares on Wax, Moloko, Nancy Sinatra, Bowie, David Bush, Bluetones, Stone Roses, Radiohead, The Smiths, Portishead, Massive Attack, Lorde, Zero Seven, Morcheeba, Air, St. Etienne, Basement Jaxx, Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp, Groove Armada, Little Dragon, the old Cafe del Mar albums, Primal Scream, The XX. Movies & books to come...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A canyon swing in New Zealand - maybe not a big deal to others, but for me it was so far out of my comfort zone I thought an alien had invaded my body!
I lived off making and selling jewellery in Mexico for several months - again maybe nothing amazing for many people in the world, but as a relatively fortunate westener it was really humbling to live hand to mouth for a while and also really inspiring to survive from something I created with my hands.
Trekking in the Himalayas, Machu Pichu, moving to China on my own... I'm listing more than one thing as I guess I don't feel any other these are so strong and unique, but they were all special and amazing to me!
Teach, Learn, Share
Gosh, um, well maybe this is cheating but I kind of think what you teach, learn and share with others changes depending on the unique dynamic or the specific differences/similarities between people - you might learn more humility or the value of not sticking to a plan from one person, then help teach patience or confidence to another, without even knowing it. The beauty is in the unexpectedness of it!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My slightly weird background story and hopefully just some spontaneous and funny interchanges!
