ABOUT ME

one of my major goals in life is to find something i am passionate about doing, that i can do on my own time, that helps people/communities, and that will provide me enough funds to be able to travel most of the time instead. im thinking something around sustainable design. i love travelling. so far, ive travelled by myself around canada and new zealand, and i think i preferr it that way, because you allow more to happen to you when you are by yourself. at times it is very solitary, but you learn to be a better friend to yourself. travelling to me is all about the people i meet along the way. yeah the scenery is nice, but it would mean nothing if there was no one to share it with. it fascinates me how many people there are to get to know in this world, and yet with the discovery of each new person, you discover a new part of yourself.

PHILOSOPHY

always be in the moment. travel teaches you this, because you constantly have to be letting go of one experience to move onto another one. you cant fully enjoy one while being homesick for the other. i still have to remind myself of this from time to time.

i slept in sally sunshine's garden on beautiful saltspring island, bc. there were always tons of people coming through, but she made room for me and made me feel like part of the rainbow family. she even put me in charge of thanksgiving dessert! soo warm and cozy.

right now im reading "one hundred years of solitude," by gabriel garcia marquez. before that, i read "collapse" by jared diamond. i dont watch that many movies. music is hard to define.

i twisted a knife into a fish's head and watched it die in my hand.

Teach, Learn, Share

i know how to play the harp, and i know some cool rhythms on the drum. i want to learn how to play the kora! and more on the drum. and mbira. and sustainable design. i know how to cook a few good dishes, but definitely want to broaden my cooking repertoire.
