ABOUT ME

My name is Shaunak, but almost everyone I know calls me Shaun. I currently live in Boston, Massachusetts, although I grew up outside New York City. I am 21 years old, and currently attend Northeastern University.

I created a Couch Surfing account because my friend and I are planning a trip to Europe this coming May. We will be visiting Portugal, Spain, and France. Aside from the financial benefits of Couch Surfing, I think travelers are fortunate to have a local resident show them the more subtle aspects of a country's culture. I had such an experience when I studied in Tokyo for a summer. I was lucky enough to become good friends with some of the students at the school I was attending. They showed me how the average Japanese student enjoyed Tokyo. This, along with getting to know those students, was the best aspect of my time there.

PHILOSOPHY

Overall I consider myself to be a balanced person. Like most college students, I enjoy spending time with my friends on the weekend. We go restaurants, bars, clubs, moves, and always have a great time. However, during the week, I take my studies seriously. Work hard, party hard.

I am down to earth, humble, and respectful. I enjoy new experiences, whether it be meeting new people, going to a new country, or trying new food. Overall, I am extremely open minded. I don't like when people judge me, so I try my best not to judge them.

I'm an opinionated person who often keeps his opinion to himself. No one in the history of the world learned anything from speaking. Learning come through listening.

I am a political science and economics major at school, so I cannot help but constantly keep an eye on current events. I enjoy reading and trying to learn the guitar.I like trying new types of food, especially anything spicy.I am a vegetarian and love cooking, although my talents are very limited.
