About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Capturing my human existance in the form of words on paper and in the memories of my friends.

ABOUT ME

According to Myers Briggs personality test, I'm an INTJ. This link is where I took the test.
http://www.humanmetrics.com/hr/JTypesResult.aspx
I'm a very laid back, relaxed individual. I spend a lot of time in quiet contemplation. I really enjoy traveling, reading, and swapping stories. I'm very good with small group's, but get anxious around large crowds. I like trying new things and, despite my social introversion, am very open to new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

The only thing that I know is that I know nothing... and I don't even know that.

The conflict IS the conflict.

There is no such thing as a "goodbye".

Everything is important, but nothing matters.

Before enlightenment chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment chop wood, carry water.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm transient, so at the moment, just by visiting other people. I do Tarot and worked at a bed and breakfast for 9 years, so my most useful assets are cleaning and giving Tarot readings (I've been told I'm quite good at readings and am willing to do them for anyone that's interested). My parent's do have a home for me in Xenia, OH, which is also a Bed & Breakfast, so I am planning on "marketing" their lovely home. :P I plan to some day suggest them to use my old room as a couch surfing host spot, but I want to travel some and get to know how other people do things first.

Interests

I'm a frequent burner. Have been to several of the events over the last few years. First burn was at the official Burning Man event in 2010. I haven't been back to the official event since, but have been to decoms, regional burns, and similar events since. My favorite of these is juplaya. Outside of that, I really enjoy writing, botany/pharmacology , and philosophy. I enjoy traveling and have been to England, Wales, Ethiopia, Uganda, Egypt, Sudan, and South Africa. I attended a football (soccer) DTS through YWAM and have worked in various missions organizations throughout the US and other countries. I consider myself interested in spirituality, but am no longer practicing any religions.

I also really enjoy video games, movies, different forms of spirituality and natural healing, and Qi Gong.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked in Yei, South Sudan just before the referendum. It was incredible. I stayed at a facility called Fly Sports where college students attended to become teachers, many of them having been ex soldiers of the war, most of them recruited when they were children. I was able to sit with and discuss the political atmosphere with some of the people just before South Sudan became it's own nation. It was incredibly powerful to get to be a part of there lives, and them a part of mine. I'll never forget what they taught me about reforming a nation ripped apart by violence and how deeply the powers of education, spirituality, and purpose and can change people.
