ABOUT ME

This account is actually for my friend Kayley and I! We are two young travel enthusiasts who hope to continue traveling until we are in a seniors home! We have been to France, Spain, Costa Rica, and Quebec together and in the summer of 2013 we are going to the United Kingdom for a month. We were both really involved in school and love meeting new people :) We are also really laid back and open minded, so we are flexible when plans change!

PHILOSOPHY

I think it is really important to understand other cultures and see places other than what you are used to because that is how you learn about yourself and form your own beliefs and opinions. It's also important to do everything with a positive attitude, even if it has a bad outcome and learn from each experience. I live my life to make good memories and I hope to constantly learn about others and myself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since Kayley and I have grown up together we have participated in a lot of things together! We were both on the student representative council in high school and often did extra things to help out the teachers! Kayley is super involved with her church and she works at a baptist camp every summer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are completely new to this! A relative of mine mentioned it as a better way to really experience the culture of a new place by getting to know the locals and their lifestyles so we thought we should give it a try!

Interests

Traveling is definitely our number one passion, but we have a lot of common interests other than that. We both love music a lot! we are constantly sharing CD's and spend way too much money on iTunes! We are definitely people people, if that makes sense? Both of our jobs involve customer service and we love it! Kayley plays basketball and ultimate frisbee, and used to take guitar lessons and dance! We are also both interested in being active and having a healthy lifestyle (not that we always follow it.....) but our number one interest is probably ice cream. OH and fashion!

Music, Movies, and Books

We both listen to 'alternative' or 'indie' music. But that's just the iTunes category! We like everything! We also like most movies that can make us laugh or cry! Typical girls?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I think of the most exciting things I have done in my life, I usually think of the more adventurous things! Like zip-lining in Costa Rica and white water rafting In Alberta! Costa Rica also had a lot of gorgeous scenery, I never wanted to leave!

Teach, Learn, Share

We certainly have a lot we can learn and are interested in learning about music, fashion, beliefs, history, traditions, and lifestyles of other people. We are basically really interested in culture. Something that we could teach others would be about life as a Canadian and all about our own interests as well!
