I'm a professional artist with a day gig in culture and love regular excursions into enchantment, discovery, all things geeky and empowerment through freedom of self-expression.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am available to hang out, show you around the city especially on Fridays, sometimes Monday afternoons.
Founded a communal home in Vancouver with my partner through this network, hosting couchsurfers, going to occasional events and starting my own travels.
Art, hiking, meditation, ecstatic dance, mask and costume making, bike riding, events, learning Mandarin, foodie leanings, laying in a hammock

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sitting in an apple tree with so many blooms I was completely hidden from passers by. The blossoms, the scent and the pink amplified. Time stood still.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach art workshops. Some unusual skills learned at a historical village museum I used to work at in full costume such as making herbal medicines from local plants, cooking or baking over a fire, and the rules of etiquette and expressions from that era. Did you know that if a man sees your ankle he has to marry you? Equally weird: if a woman calls out from the house to a man on the street, she is considered of 'poor breeding'. I also am good at painting, talking about and exploring new ideas, mentoring young people, rehabilitating dogs with bad manners due to past trauma, and ecstatic dance (a fancy term for not knowing what I'm doing, but having a blast).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I make great soup, can score you some Canadiana and am on here to make connections with people, various cultures and communities
