I like adventures and I believe that anything can be one with the right mindset, from something as exciting as a flight to a foreign country to something as seemingly mundane as a trip to the grocery store.
I like meeting new friends and eating great food with them.
I like good beer and live music.
I like where I work. Working with college students keeps me just the right balance of responsible and fun.
I like cities. And nature.
I'm from MInnesota. I've lived in Australia. I called New York City home for one summer. Now I'm from Chicago. I love all of those places.
I'm outrageously sarcastic. If you don't love it instantly, you'll love it once you catch on.
I want to travel more, but I'm sure everyone on this site feels the same.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People who make it possible for others to travel and who love to show others around their cities are great people. I want to be one of them, and I want to meet more of them.
I was a guest via couchsurfing once in St. Louis, but that's the first and only time I've had an opportunity to travel this way. (The friend I was traveling with surprised me by setting it up, which is why I'm not personally connected to the host via the site.) It was an awesome experience, and I can't wait to do it again somewhere else or to help someone explore Chicago!
I'm not on couchsurfing for dating--thought that might be helpful to say based on some interactions I've had on here :) Looking forward to meeting new and fun people for platonic adventures in great places!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once joined a flash mob group. I'm pretty sure that a woman said yes to a man's proposal purely because she was moved by our dancing. (Don't say I didn't warn you about the sarcasm; see above.) Other random and sometimes fleeting hobbies have included running semi-longish distances just to prove to myself that I could, cake decorating, attempting to learn to play guitar, and making quilt out of tshirts I got for free.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're coming to Chicago, I can share recommendations for great places to eat (from the hole-in-the-wall to the great vegan place to the best burgers in the city to the fancy places that I can't afford), fun venues to go out, arts & culture insights, public transportation advice, and company on any of these adventures if you so desire.
