About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live honestly, learn as much as possible, create, teach, share, inspire and build community!

ABOUT ME

I'm just some eccentric girl who grew up in the same place as Bruce Springsteen. I write, paint, and craft anything and everything. My life seems to be settling into the path of nomadic volunteer. I believe above all else in the creative potential of humanity.
After volunteering as a medic and support vehicle with OWS (used to be an EMT), I found myself helping coordinate disaster relief efforts for 5 months after 'superstorm' Sandy quite literally hit home.
I work professionally time to time as a line cook and art instructor but sustain mostly by making artisan crafts to sell and trade.
Currently, I am traveling around the US with the intention of learning and sharing all I can about grassroots organizing- especially of food-justice efforts, urban cooperatives and rural intentional communities hoping to gain a better understanding of how to fix the world... or at least how to coordinate relief efforts when they're needed, be it after a natural disaster or because of the disastrous economy!

Music, Movies, and Books

I guess a person's taste in these things IS kinda telling.... I am a music and documentary junkie so here's the short of it:
Movies- Ahrundati Roy "We", The Renegade Economist's "The Four Horsemen", TED and TEDX talks, anything Jim Jarmusch or Hayao Miyazaki have ever touched, anything from the 'early days' of television and cinema silent or otherwise, especially war propaganda and news shorts... oh, and Doctor Who (old and new)

Music: jazz, blues, soul, folk music of any and every variety, lots of things that begin with 'post' and end in 'core'....

Books: all time favorites thus far in life- "The Dharmapada," Mark Z Danielewski's "House of Leaves," Miranda July's "Nobody Belongs Here More Than You," Jeremy Scahill's "Blackwater" ...more Noam Chomsky books than I remember the titles to.... Charles Bukowski.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

spending one of the worst natural disasters in recent history outdoors, generally unsheltered....

Sunset from the top of a cliff looking out over the entire Bitter Root range

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know you can create and sustain a grassroots relief effort in your community in response to any and every type of disaster that not only actually helps those in need, but faster, longer and better than established organizations? and with ZERO overhead and total transparency?

there's too much to explain! message me!
