About Me

I would say I'm a borderline adult, trying to discover and learn her place in the world and the world itself. I joined CS during my coming of age, hoping to be a braver person and learn from other travellers. Hailing from an urban city-state Singapore in Southeast Asia, I fell in love with hiking (and solo travelling) during a field study on Heritage and Tourism in Kyushu, Japan.

I laugh at lot, and very easily. More often than not, I am laughing at people's reactions instead of the content of the jokes/stories itself. :)

When I am not travelling or studying or working, I am usually practising Koto (箏 a traditional Japanese instrument) in my university, doing some readings, listening to philosophy bites, or on YouTube watching Ted talks, School of Life videos, and crash courses as if they were a TV show. I occasionally indulge in sports anime and BL/Josei manga too! Also, I am a big figure skating fan and even travelled several times solely for the intent of catching international competitions!

Vegan since March 2016, motivated by love for the environment, animals, and people. Also, I absolutely adore fruits, fruits, and more fruits. Tropical fruits (such as dragon fruits, my baby) and avocados are the biggest loves of my life. I love exploring vegan options and vegan-ised local cuisines too!

Hoping to complete the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage by 2020.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To live life graciously and meet new people around the world, as cliche as it sounds. It would be amazing and serendipitous to find someone with similar hobbies or to hit it off with another being.

Personal philosophy:
There is no traffic on the extra mile.
We are just a vessel for all the people who came before us for all the knowledge we have and it is our responsibility to share what we have.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have accidentally dropped a double bass once. I am so sorry.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share Singapore's 'indigenous language', Singlish! It's a mix of different languages in Singapore, including Malay, some Tamil, and different Chinese dialects.

For my surfers, I usually jog a minimum of 5km on Sunday evening/morning around the park near my house on a normal week and do some light stretching/yoga after. You are welcomed to join. :)

I might not be able to deal with last minute request for meetups/host because of my irregular part-time schedule, please bear with me!

Conversations from everything to philosophy of mind and language; vegan cooking; company for long walk/hike.
