Silvia Stecher was born in 1992 from a Swiss-Italian family who loves the pure travel, walking and the mountain’s fresh air.
She decided to study graphic advertising in an artistic high school.
She studied graphic advertising also at the Academy of fine Art in Genoa, where she realized that what she really loves is contemporary art. At the end of her studies she wrote a thesis about walking with the title “The human step” in which she analysed how the movement of a foot in front of the other one has been studied and used by contemporary art.
Trekking shoes have always been her favourite symbol of freedom and after all that writing about walking she just wants to Walk.

Nasce a Genova nel 1992 da famiglia italo-svizzera amante del viaggio puro, del cammino e dell’aria fresca di montagna.
Intraprende fin dal liceo gli studi artistici specializzandosi in grafica pubblicitaria.
Studia grafica pubblicitaria anche presso l’Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti, dove però si rende conto del suo amore nei confronti dell’arte contemporanea. Termina gli studi con una tesi sul cammino dal nome “A passo d’uomo” dove analizza come il procedere lento ed inesorabile dei passi sia stato usato dall’arte contemporanea, fin dagli anni ’30, come mezzo per esprimersi.
Gli scarponi da Trekking sono sempre stati il suo vestire preferito ed è per questo che dopo tanto scrivere sull’argomento decide di dedicare del Tempo a Camminare.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have a big project!!
We are starting to walk from Genova, our home town, to arrive to Mont Saint Michel, Normandy, without using any kind of transport, public or not.
We will arrive there on our feet. Probably in 2 months.

One of us is a director so we will do a documentary of our experience. We would like to have more people in it and that's why we would like to do Couchsurfing.
