Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is a new account I've created, since my old couchsurfing a/c based in Brussels faded out around 3 years ago after I had a job involving a lot of travel, and I've since changed my permanent base country a few times. Now I'm fixed (more or less) for a bit of time and have a little more space than I necessarily need. I've hosted people maybe half a dozen times and been hosted twice (not on this a/c though). I've always had a great time, with an amazingly broad spectrum of people on such different journeys and points in their lives, and cs has been a practical lifesaver in sticky situations.

Interests

learning, reading anything, food (growing, cooking and eating!), rushing over the blinked gap between mountain and sea, sailing, painting, wandering around watching, appreciation of good drink while slouching over like book, long conversations stretching into the night, gardening, building cob ovens, fiddling with political economy, climate science, philosophy, beauty, ecological economics; playtime with people. At times smoking becomes an interest in and of itself..
