About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Love to travel and meet local people in far away places

ABOUT ME

I've traveled to all 50 US states and the countries listed below. Have kept a diary since 1982 and have not missed a single day (crazy, but I love to write). Keep active in the outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I lived in Thailand during the winters of 2015 and 2016. I have previously been an active member of Hosteling International (formerly American Youth Hostels) and Servas (host families). I may also like to have CS guests in my home. I have hosted people from Japan and Ireland in the past, but not thru couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New... My friend & I met a young man out bicycling in upstate NY and he said he had been couchsurfing on his bicycle trip of many weeks. My friend has since couchsurfed in New Mexico and Arizona as she scouts for a new place to settle. She enjoyed it.

Interests

I love folk music, kayaking, bicycling, hiking, photography, writing, reading, art, camping, traveling to other countries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in Thailand over 4 months in 2015 and again in 2016, made Thai friends, did a lot of bicycling there, rode elephants. Also, bicycled across central Cambodia in 2013.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lovely setting near a lake, kayaks to share, traveling lore & info, campfire at night, local Revolutionary War History (and other history) in my hometown.
