About Me

Looking Searching Seeking Finding Lookin Searching Seeking Finding

The way I see existence is best summed up by a Blackfoot named Crowfoot who blessed the world with this bit of wisdom while on his deathbed:

'What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the winter time. It is the little shadow that runs across the grass and loses itself in the Sunset.'

I'm not one for conventions, life is too short to do things arbitrarily. My personality is very reflective and low-key. If something needs to be done I prefer to do it myself. If I get along and laugh with somebody I consider them a friend. If I trust somebody I consider them family.

I have a universal love of all humankind, and believe that connecting with people across cultures is one of the most rewarding things we can experience in this globalized age.

I don't like to take things seriously.
I like to ride my bike through Manhattan at full speed and squeeze between buses and taxis, giving the occasional high-five to someone hailing a cab.
I love to cook. Pasta is my fuel.
Something new every day means it was a good day.
I love photography and the challenge of capturing a feeling or moment.
I love to salsa but I'm not that good at it (maybe someone can teach me more)

The New York Rangers are the most important non important thing in my life.

The master will appear when the student is ready.

I love music:
-Hip-Hop, mostly 90's:
Nas, Souls of Mischief, Hiero, J Dilla, Wu-Tang, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, Gangstarr, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambataa, Immortal Technique, The Pharcyde, Dead Prez, Digable Planets, etc.

Funkadelic, Mandrill, Fela Kuti, Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, Sly & The Family Stone, The Four Tops, etc.

60's & 70's Psychedelic Rock:
Santana, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix/Band of Gypsys.

And I have to put Omar Rodriguez-Lopez in his own genre:
At The Drive-In, The Mars Volta, and all of his solo work, insane.

Trying to read more books, in the middle of Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain....word of advice - don't eat fish on Monday NYC people.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Solo trip to my family's town in Sicily to meet relatives for the first time. I think about them every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to do a New Yawk accent, make some good traditional Italian tomato sauce, and how to juggle....maybe all three at the same time.
