ABOUT ME

I studied English and French, and I'm currently making use of both of those subjects by teaching English to French lycée students. When I grow up/stop moving somewhere new several times a year, I want to be a HS English teacher. Love reading and figure skating, love travel, love collecting random bits of knowledge and forgetting important things (such as basic algebra, which is why I will not be a HS math teacher).

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'm all about musicals and any dance movies, good or bad. My film taste is not particularly discerning in that way. Favorite movie in life (since the age of three--before that it was The Little Mermaid) is The Sound of Music.

Music: Again with the musicals, also love Tristan Prettyman, Dar Williams, and Ani DiFranco.

Books: If you leave it near me, I will pick it up. I have a particular soft spot in my heart for Young Adult Literature and Historical Fiction. A handful of my favorites are Fear of Flying (Erica Jong), Paper Towns (John Green), The Truth About Forever (Sarah Dessen), The Great Gatsby (Fitzgerald), The Last Time I Was Me (Cathy Lamb), and Le Petit Nicolas (who doesn't love the stories of a small French boy getting into trouble?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent two days hiking around Flam in Norway. I don't normally consider myself an outdoorsy person, but it was the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my life. Absolutely incredible.
