Dreaming, scheming, fantasy-weaving
INFJ. They say my type sometimes appears extroverted because of a need to connect with people on an intimate level, and I admit it's pretty accurate. I'm addicted to learning, living, laughing, loving.
My therapy is art of all kinds. I try to bring a journal or sketchbook with me everywhere. Music calms my soul. I recently took up yoga and love how my practice has served as a tangible measure of personal growth.
Spent a year teaching English in Spain and traveling Europe as much as possible. Researched traditional Chinese medicine in Hong Kong and explored that side of the globe for a little bit. Now returning to my studies again at home (seems like I will be a student forever - not that it's a bad thing...) this summer!
You can also find me on BW and Airbnb.
As Anthony Bourdain put it, "If you're twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them, wherever you go."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosted a couple of Erasmus students and a fellow English teacher when I lived in Granada. Surfed in Copenhagen, Valencia, Berlin, and Donostia. Met some lovely people at events in Hong Kong.
Underground music bars and late night telestrations - the best :)
design, food, global health, music, neuroscience, sustainability, writing autobiographical blurbs in incomplete sentences, getting out to soak up the sun, getting out to soak up the rain (!! but not enough to get sick - that's not as fun)
- rock climbing
- study abroad
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm always open to making and discovering new music. I invite you to recommend your favorites as additions to my music library.
I can watch Forrest Gump and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind over and over again and still find something new.
Recently finished 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. Currently diving into Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig. Next on my list is Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Canyoning in the south of France was really fun. Climbing to the third tallest peak in Hong Kong, watching the sunset, and surviving the trek back down without a headlamp after dark. Also, rocking out front row & center to Phoenix and The Postal Service live at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. A++
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to jam sesh - I dabble in piano, guitar, violin, and... ukulele :)
As far as sharing, I can offer my favorite recipes. Recipe exchange!
