About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To acheive everything I want to in life and be happy along the way...and possibly to not actually live at home ;)

ABOUT ME

I'm a junior at Centenary College in Shreveport. I'm getting a BA in English. After I graduate I plan on joining the Peace Corps and then going to grad school for physical or cultural anthropology. I would love to travel around the world learning about other cultures first hand. And be a coroner. And teach. lol - there are too many things to do and I can't put myself in a planned box. If that makes sense.

I'm cynical and sarcastic, but I'm also one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Whether I like someone or not, I can't help but be there for them. I give everyone a chance, and though I sometimes regret it, I still can't help but do it. I'm a camp counselor for life even though I'm not overly fond of children. I'm still good at it. I don't lie to people. And it's hard for me to keep secrets. I like camping, fishing, climbing rock walls, and archery. I can't decide where I want to live, so I want to try living everywhere. I come off as very apathetic and I am far to indecisive for my own god. I have a problem with spewing things about myself out. I open up to people very quickly, but without necessarily meaning to. That's me.

PHILOSOPHY

Try not to worry. It doesn't accomplish anything. Just living life the way you want to is the way to go--even if there are some bumps along the way. I don't know how well I live by this. Maybe I'm not a worrier, but I'm too much of a thinker.

Music, Movies, and Books

I watch any movie. My favorites are Gidget, Saved, and White Christmas.

I love Regina Spektor! And lots of music with the exception of most country and heavy metal. I recently discovered Ingrid Michaelson who is amazing.

I read a lot. Sometimes getting lost in a book...it definitely relaxes me. A Tale of Two Cities, Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic, Stone Butch Blues, The Annunciation of Francesca Dunn--those are a few of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped out with the hurricane relief efforts in New Orleans/Slidell. My work team built a wheel chair ramp for this cute little old lady, Ms. Spivey. Getting to know her and then watching her use the ramp for the first time was pretty great.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like languages. I really want to brush up my French.
I'm good at a lot of outdoor things like archery and camping kind of skills.
I can crochet? lol, but I definitely need to spruce up that skill as well.
I would love to learn how to sew. I've been trying and I'm okay at pillows and blankets and simple things. Otherwise, I'm a little useless.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Germany

Countries I’ve Lived In
