About Me

CURRENT MISSION

After years of care-giving for partners and family, I am free to give my gifts in other ways to even more people through community, collaboration, education, and play!

ABOUT ME

A good listener, funny, accommodating, understanding, insightful, energetic â

PHILOSOPHY

I am a devotee of the Integral philosopher Ken Wilber. I don't "believe" as much as I experience, feel, and adjust with as much attention and self-knowledge as possible. I love to know how people tick, what drives them, where their passions are. Superficial life plays its part, but I enjoy the dive into what really matters, what's really going on. I am here on earth to make a contribution, and I'm doing that. It makes me really really happy.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to be part of a home's rhythms, helping by cooking, cleaning up, talking or being quiet, noticing, playing. As a hostess I value a balance between privacy and social interaction.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to this site, but I've been couch-surfing with friends since coming out to the Bay Area to relocate my business on July 6. Meanwhile, my house in CT is sheltering a refugee from a bad break-up, and I've taken in friends and students in the past, and I liked it!

Interests

Talent on display: dancing, acting, movies, plays, art. Dancing: Argentine tango Kayaking, running, cycling.

Music, Movies & Books

I read or listen to books all the time. I recently read Ann Patchett's "State of Wonder" and I am currently reading Jonathan Haidt's "The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion."

I am a classically trained musician, so I have the capability to appreciate just about any musical form. I've been to over 50 Dead shows. One of the best concert performances I ever experienced was Pink Martini.

Movies: I love them.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Sailing race in Maine at dusk, the sun setting over the water in the West (sizzle) and the moon rising in the East (zing!) Watching the fairy penguins race up the beach after fishing all day, and confronting aggressive gulls who tried to frighten them into regurgitating their day's catch for their nests in Australia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have an intuitive and a studied understanding of human nature and our energetic blueprints. I enjoy helping people sort out the questions of life. I am also deeply immersed at the moment in building a business, and am eager to share what I know in exchange for all the help I've received. I am an accomplished cook, a professional tango teacher, and a funny raconteur. As a perpetual student, I love learning about other people's expertise and perspectives.
