About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live only in the moment and to explore the far corners of this beautiful world.

ABOUT ME

I'm a fun, easy-going person living the life I've always wanted. I grew up in a military family and it was an experience I wouldn't trade for the world. I have seen so many great cities but more importantly I've seen the true strength and resilience of people, who wait patiently and supportively for those they love to come home.
After graduating college, I really began my travels starting in Australia and then began moving from city to city until landing in LA. I'm here trying to break into the music business (on the industry side, sadly I'm not a talented musician). I am working toward getting my JD (law) degree so I can use my talents and passions to help artists share their gifts.

PHILOSOPHY

I will never be done learning even after I see the most remote corners of the earth (which I will one day accomplish) there will always be something left to learn about and someone interesting to learn it from.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I haven't been in a situation where I can host on a regular basis, I try to participate as much as possible in the local LA community. Being relatively new to the city, I am always available for exploring the city and checking out cool pubs and restaurants. I try to participate in as many CS meet ups and hang out as possible since this is how I've met so many fascinating travelers without being able to host. Feel free to send me a message if you're looking for someone to explore the city with while you're in town!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined Couch Surfing in November 2009 and it has been a non stop adventure ever since. Most of my experience has been involvement with the local CS groups in both Seattle and Los Angeles, though I have hosted travelers in the past. Whether it's a weekly meet up or a monthly friendship potluck, I really enjoy meetings and learning from travelers all over the world. The connections I make with other surfers in just a few days rival some of the long term friendships I have built outside of this community. To me, couch surfing and what this community has inspired is an unmatched experience and one I do not take for granted in the least bit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a wide taste in music, movies and books. I like anything that takes it one (or two, or ten) steps beyond a cookie cutter format. I studied music business in college and always have been an avid writer and reader. I LOVE suggestions from my friends because I feel that's the only way we're going to help artists disseminate their art, so please send along any suggestions :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling through the Northern Territory with a group of international strangers was the coolest experience I've ever had. While we were there, we took a day to hike around the base of Uluru, which was the most amazing and spiritual day I've ever had. The rock is surrounded with stories of the ancestors and custodians of this sacred land that is still so vastly unexplored. I am eager to go back to continue exploring the remainder of the Outback.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn how to cook traditional dishes from other nationalities. I have a few of my own to share if anyone needs a new dish to serve.

Countries I’ve Visited
