ABOUT ME

If you could see my car and take a ride in it for a day, you would see that the duck tape on the outside only helps to enhance the beauty that resides under the hood. I'm thankful for the gift of an automobile and the opportunities to get around that it has provided me (I love you silver bullet!)

I see myself in the same way, as a car that may not have all the bells and whistles like some others, but needs only the small things to appreciate life. I'm a very fortunate person that's been given the opportunity to experience life at any turn.

My goal, and as of yesterday, my reality, has always been to step foot across the pond and say that I have seen another country. I have done "enough" (not that much lol) traveling here in the United States to now have the insatiable appetite to see what else is out there.

Every kid has a different idea of what they want when they grow up, and mine has always been to travel. Whether with friends, family, my girlfriend (Beanfamily!) or by myself, the world is something I have to experience, there is no other choice.

I'm a huge tennis fan and would love to have enough free time to plan a schedule that would take me around the world to see all four Grand Slam tournaments as well as the Master Series events throughout the world.

On top of that, as my passion for sports is right on par with the passion that is held by soccer, rugby, cricket fans, etc. all over the world, I would love to experience many major sporting events across the globe as well.

I come from a fairly large family, so family is a huuuge part of my life. I am extremely close with all my family and especially my mom, dad, step-dad, sisters, brother, and girlfriend. Whether I get to travel with my family at some point or not (which I feel I will) they are always on my mind and right there spiritually with me for every journey.

Something that I would love to accomplish over time before, after, during and throughout all my travels is be able to document as much of it as possible through writings, photos, and video. I have a desire to write my own personal stories in a way that if my 12 year old self was to read, it would inspire him like I was when I first began to picture the world of travel in my mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm pretty "green" when it comes to Couchsurfing in terms of requesting a couch, definitely a newbie lol, but I'm really excited about all the possibilities that lie ahead and the experiences awaiting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a friend who has hosted quite a few times here in San Diego, and my girlfriend backpacked and Couchsurfed through Europe for three months. So that's pretty much the gist of my experience, but I have loved all the travelers I have had the pleasure of meeting through my friend and hearing all the stories from girlfriend of her awesome experiences.

Interests

I love to read. I do have preferences for what I like to read but for the most part, sell me well on something to read, and I'm likely to give it a chance.

When I have the opportunity to watch sports, you can sure as heck pencil me in to be in front of a television. I'm a huge Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls fan and you can catch me every Sunday ready and waiting for my Packers game to start.

I grew up playing any and all sports, so it's something that's been ingrained in me to love and I definitely have the passion for it. You ask me to play some kind of sport and your most surely going to have me chomping at the bit ready to play.

I love to run, as far and as long as my happy little heart can handle. And something that has always been a strong interest of mind that I would love to compete in are triathlons and then get good enough to challenge in IronMan's.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ahhhhh man that's easy! Movies top 5: 1. Braveheart 2. Troy 3. Gladiator 4. King Arthur 5. Snatch. Movies are amazing!!! Top 5 or not, I'm easy to please on the movie front. Life of Pi was an amazing book and it's all about what you want to make of it and take from it. Music wise, one of my fondest memories of California is the Mumford and Sons concert I got to experience with my girlfriend Michelle at the Hollywood Bowl on November 12, 2012. Music is a gateway to the soul and country music over the last year has really started to make it's way back into my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cirque du Soleil...TWICE! and those people are nutz no matter how many times you see them!!!!!!! lol
