See the world. Learn the words. Be Somebody interesting.
I am a large, odd Australian with a small backpack. I speak with a fairly mild Australian accent. I have a tendency to use long words when I think no one's looking. I am laid back and easy going.
I enjoy coffee, and can appreciate both caffiene and deliciousness, separately or together. I am a non smoker, and a non drinker except in exceptional (and exceptionally entertaining) social circumstances. I apparently have a racial bonus vs Alcohol when the situation demands, however.
Don't really have one. I have definite views on metaphysics of any kind (for myself only, i have no problem with the beliefs of others). Do I live my life? i'm not certain i do, not properly anyway. Feelings? Sure, i got plenty. Not much of a feelings sharerer, though. Thoughts? Constantly. Intro Extro and Juxto spection. I say one thought in about a thousand. Even when drunk, strangely. I'm not sure how that works.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am brand new to the community, and am looking forward to participating in all the things.
I've been to one meetup in NYC, and will definitely go again wherever i happen to be.
SF, USA with friends in a large nerd share house. Excellent times. Friends Couches in Orkney and North Wales. My Parents' house in Sydney for two months (does that count?)
I am pretty much a nerd. I love complicated board games, and games that have evolved beyond the need for more than pen and paper. I enjoy video games, although I am generally pretty terrible at them. Trains (traveling on, not spotting of). Wandering aimlessly round cities. Trivia. Language and Languages. Geese. Non Sequiturs.

Music, Movies, and Books
This subject is very important and complicated. I am generally a consumer of fiction rather than Factinesses, and Science Fiction is the base from which I cast my brain-nets, though I do cast them fairly wide. In terms of music, I am the same. Metal, especially Symphonic, is where I live, but my ear-nets encompass the interestingest of most genres with the exception of country. Even interesting country is uninteresting.
Transmetropolitan, Sandman, Gunm (manga)
Buffalo 66, Matrix 1, Star Wars Episode 5, Unbreakable, Serenity
Firefly (With a Bullet!) Caprica, Ghost in The Shell, Invader Zim, Anything by Yoshitoshi Abe,
HP Lovecraft, Charles Stross, ian M Banks, Warren Ellis
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Memorial park at Hiroshima. I was close to tears by the time I'd walked the whole thing. This is an important and moving monument that everyone should see once in their life.
Penny Arcade eXpos in Seattle and Boston. So many like-minded people in one place. So much fun.
Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
Oh, one, right, sorry.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ah. Marketable skills. That's where it all falls down, of course. I was an IT Tech in a previous life, and i have a strong (if idiosyncratic) facility with spoken and written English. I am told I am very easy to understand (when I'm trying, that is).
