I would like to host people interested in Ghana's music and culture, and help people visit and experience interesting places in Ghana.
I am a traditional dancer and drummer from a small neighbourhood called Nima in Accra, Ghana.
I'm passionate about all the beautiful music and dance from all the 10 regions of Ghana. I perform with Gaska Dance Company, teach in schools and also give fun informal classes to visitors/tourists who are interested to learn or even just listen and watch.
I speak 5 languages: English + 4 Ghanian native languages Twi, Ga, Hausa, Ewe (none of which I can select in couch surfing's language list!).
I am also a relaxed Rasta man -so I also love Reggae music- no stress and am happy to welcome any kind of people to my home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live alone in a humble single room 'apartment' in a humble neighbourhood called Newtown, next to Nima, where I was born and where my family still lives. I am happy to host up to five people maximum for up to 1 week depending on my availability.
Many people might tell you that Newtown is not a 'good' or 'safe' place to visit, but the reality is that many people live here, families, women, children and people are very friendly. I promise that I can show you a side of Accra that most tourists never see. If you have an open mind I promise you will have a great time, meet very nice people and be perfectly safe here.
Whether you decide to stay with me is up to you, no pressure. If you prefer we can just catch up, meet for drumming and dancing or I can even take you out to see the nightlife of Accra or other interesting regions of Ghana.
I have hosted several people through my brother Kojo (who is also on CS and lives some of the year with his English wife in London) and also shown many people around and brought them to our dance and drumming group.
