About Me
Hello, my name is Somi
I love writing and films. I entered university to study film production and screenwriting. I used to simply enjoy writing,
but when it started to affect my grades, I realized I didn't love it the same way anymore. So after finishing my freshman year of college, I decided to travel the world.
Meeting new people and experiencing new environments — stepping out of my comfort zone into something unpredictable and a little scary — has been the most magical and valuable experience I could ever have.
And I wish that every person I meet and every moment I experience on this journey will someday find their way into my writing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be honest, at first I thought, “Are there really people who would offer their sofa to strangers?”
But after installing the Couchsurfing app and reading people’s profiles and stories, I realized that these people are true adventurers.
I gradually became fascinated by their lives and experiences, and I found myself wanting to be adventurous like them.
Now, setting out on this journey feels like the perfect moment to turn those once vague dreams into reality.
And if this experience turns out to be a good one, I hope that someday I can invite many surfers from this community to my hometown as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts
To prepare for a long journey, I always carry some Korean ramen soup packets in my bag.
With them, I can make a variety of Korean-style dishes.
If you’re interested in movies or film photography, I think we’ll have great conversations.
And if you’re into Korean films or Korean culture — like K-pop or anything “K-something” — I’d love to share my stories and experiences with you!
