Overview
About Me
I grew up in Hong Kong and Japan, going to international schools that were British and American. I have been in Ithaca for 5 years, and I recently graduated from Cornell with a degree in Biology, focusing on Ecology and Evolution.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I'm hosting, I want to meet interesting people and show them the cool things I've discovered about my town. When I travel, I want them to do the same for me. Finding out what it's like to live in a place is always more fun than just passing through.
Interests
I love ecology, and being outside. I love books, cynicism, and puns. I love food, and I spend a lot of my time and my limited budget on it. I love talking to people, and hearing new stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
Right now I like Nancy Sinatra, Watermark, & Hocus Pocus (by Kurt Vonnegut), respectively
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I learned how to climb trees like an arborist, with ropes and a harness, so that I could research nutrient cycling in deciduous forests. I used the same methods to climb trees in Ecuador recently - we were setting camera traps to photograph small mammals in the Andean cloud forest.
Teach, Learn, Share
We cook most of our meals together from scratch, and we're happy to share. We make yogurt, bread, tempeh, and sprouts as well. I can take you to Ithaca's famous natural gorges, and point out favorite local shops and bars.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I live with 4 friends in a carriage house in downtown Ithaca - tucked behind a larger old Victorian. Our living room has 1 long couch, 2 shorter ones, and some floor space. You're welcome to some of whatever food we make, as well. I can give you advice on navigating Ithaca's bus system, too.
