CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to further develop my photography of the urban space.

ABOUT ME

I am on the fringes of the central city. Close to the entertainment precincts of Ponsonby and Karangahape Road. Also close to major public transport routes and a park. My apartment is cosy and has stunning views of the city at night.

I enjoy meeting people of different cultures and learning about their experiences.

Work Experience

Jan 2010 to present Freelance Social Media Consultant

Various other short term contracts to include; redevelopment of a group website, installation of a wireless network, computer system trouble-shooting, and setting up of email system on GoogleApps to enable clients to communicate through the business website.

Interest.co.nz publishes interest rate comparatives and financial data for companies to access.

Social Media Consultant
Developed daily video news service; sourced autocue and editing software, lighting and chroma-key technology to allow inclusion of expository charts.
Developed Adobe Flash player for the home page to allow inclusion of subtitles and charts.
Developed an animation technique to include charts in presentations using an XML data feed.
Researched and recommended a dedicated hosting option when website traffic increased. Migrated website to new host.
Integration of a Wordpress blog when news format changed to blog based format. Set up Google Analytics to track the blog and main site.
Expanded the video delivery capabilities to include a Flash video hosting service in the U.S., podcasts from iTunes and YouTube video embeds for the Wordpress blog.
Developed site traffic using social media techniques; relationship building with popular NZ blog publishers to encourage quotes/links to site content and making use of Facebook and Twitter.
Installed a server to cope with the rapidly growing traffic; a VMWare ESX solution that could be upscaled easily, negotiated a contract to fit the business needs.
Project managed the relocation of the business premises and set up a studio with high quality lighting and video equipment for online video service.
Developed procedures for regular search engine and user optimisation of the website.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to be always asking questions and learning from those around me. As we get older it is especially important to keep our minds challenged.

I participate by offering a couch in the center of Auckland to solo surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had 3 couch surfing experiences: all positive. Aude stayed one night on my floor and I met Natasha for coffee. Martin stayed for 3 nights on my floor.
