About Me

Hey! I'm 23 years old and originally from the New York City area; however, I prefer being in more remote places as opposed to massive cities. After graduating from Uni, I moved to the Bahamas where I spent a year teaching marine ecology at a boarding school, and working at a remote field station focusing on studying sharks and stingrays. I've spent the last 4-months scuba diving around Komodo National Park in Indonesia, and doing volunteer work for a manta ray research group.

I'm somewhat of an 'ocean junkie' - I love being in and on the water. I do love the mountains, and pretty much everything outdoor related.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm headed to the South Island March 9 and am super excited. I'll be with an old sailing friend for one week, but want to do some more in the Queenstown and Fiordland region on my own. As someone who has lived on tiny, remote islands, I'd rather hang around/explore with a group of locals over backpackers traveling through.

My adventures have only been as successful as the people I'm with, which is exactly why I'm searching for cool people to explore with! Ideally someone who appreciates food and being outside. I don't have nearly as much time to spend exploring as I would like, so am going to try and take advantage of everything.

I love hiking, fishing, kayaking, camping, and pretty much anything outside as long as I'm with an funny, entertaining, and welcoming crew.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've traveled to lots of different places and worked in tons of different environments. I love sharing about my previous work and travel experiences. I've basically spent the last two years traveling around the world working on major research projects and teaching marine ecology to eager high school students.

I'm definitely a nerd at heart (but a cool one).

Countries I’ve Visited
