About Me
After having spent my Erasmus in Zagreb and having learned A LOT about the history of this region, I cannot wait to see the actual places I had my mind on for the past 5 months.
Since I study Politics and Sociology, the functioning of societies and how the history influences it have always been in my interest. But rarely ever have I come to a region where event from the past impact the present so evidently as in the Balkans.
It is from the people of a country that you learn the best about the habits, myths and customs. So I am hoary to stay with you and learn first hand :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Nowadays you can get all the information you want through this little screen, that makes you read these lines right now. But what actually sticks in your mind is the stories you heard being told. When you see the expressions, hear the emotions of the people telling the stories.
I want to get in contact with the locals to see their country through their eyes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Ghana me and my friends celebrated the 1st of January as you do over there. We had a picknick on the beach. I was playing with the youngest son of a family sitting near by when his mother called him for lunch and invited me. Jollof rice from a thermo box. I ate a bit and than when back to my friends. A few minutes later she came to me, sat the little boy next to me, gave me a huge portion of rice and said “he is only eating next to you!” So there I sat, eating rice with my sandy fingers, podded meat from a chicken foot and fed the little boy.
