Romain and Sophie are a French couple. Romain is from the Sud-Ouest, is down-to-earth, loves the ocean and all kind of sports. Sophie is from the region of Paris and has a mixed cultural background, as her parents come from Laos and are of Chinese descent.
They love travelling to meet new people that will help them see the world with new eyes.
They live together in Paris and work in the Tech industry.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are on Couchsurfing because we are firm believers of the sharing economy. We are discrete guests but would love to share more with our hosts if they are available.
Japan will be our first experience with Couchsurfing and we are excited!
Sophie has practiced classical piano for 10 years and now learns bossa nova on ukulele.

Books: lately The Power of Now, Elena Ferrante’s neopolitan novels, John Irving, (and as youngsters Tales of the Otori, Harry Potter, His Dark Materials)
Movies: we are watching japanese movies to prepare for our trip ! Among them: battle royale, nobody knows (誰も知らない, 2004), Les délices de Tokyo (あん, 2015) and Mononoke Hime.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sophie has taught Leadership to benefactors of a social organisation in 2017 and is, since then, passionate about this topic.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We are willing to share happy moments with our hosts. It can be through travel anecdotes & cultural exchange, an evening out together or why not cooking and sharing a meal (& drinks) at home!
