About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Figure out what home means and find the faces that make it.

ABOUT ME

The best description of myself that I've ever heard was this: vibrantly weird.

To give more detail, though: I'm a very straightforward person, though I wouldn't say I'm honest to a fault. I'm also definitely a bit of a geek. I dislike crowded, noisy places and avoid them as often as I can.

Those are my most consistent traits. Otherwise, depending on the person I'm with or my mood, I can be easygoing, stubborn, talkative, quiet, and so on. I love talking about literature, movies, and information in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't like the backpacking style of travel that much. I prefer taking my time in a place for at least one week, preferably two or three. Maybe I'm not as likely to stay on someone's couch because of this, but I like meeting local people and just talking. People usually make a place memorable, not the tourist attractions.

Interests

I love words, and hope to master at least four foreign languages. So far, I'm almost there with Spanish and have rudimentary Japanese. English is my one true love, though, and so I'm fond of reading, writing, and linguistics.

As mentioned above, I lean towards geekier things like Firefly and video games, though they don't eat up my life. I like design a lot, and appreciate it in several of its forms - fashion, art, visual.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have never been prouder than the moment I reached the peak of Mount Fuji. It was a six hour climb involving protective gloves, short breaks, and a small can of oxygen to stave off delirium. Just knowing that I could make it was a incredible feeling.
