Helping vulterable children in Cambodia to get proper education. So that they will have a better future and we are able to stop any forms of child 's abuse.
I was born in a Farmer Family and grew up during the Vietnam war. I had experience as a refugee when I was only 7 years old. I lost opportunity of going to school. I helped my parents to sell colal cake and followed my father to buy recycle materials instead of going to school at that time.
However, I never gave up my hope and had a chance to study after my family returned to my home-town.I had compledted Cau Ke high school and get Diploma Buddhist Studies. I worked as a primary school teacher at my home-town for 2 years then I have to move into Cambodia and worked as a Khmer-Vietnamese translator for the School of Agriculture Prek Leap in 1986.
In Cambodia, I had a chance to study English and had been sent to study politics in Ha Noi, Vietnam. However, after finished studies in Ha Noi and returned to Cambodia, I was not intereted in politics, because there was too much violence in Cambodia and it against my ideal, which I believe in peace, compasion and charitable work. The Cambodian people get too much suffering from the past already. They should be treated respectfully and Cambodian children should have opportunity for education. In stead of that, many Cambodian people are still suffuring from poverty, diseases, social unjustice and etc. Many Cambodian children have no opportunity to get education. Many of them have been abused and neglected, some of them work on the streets to collect recycle materials ( cans) while other children in developed countries have a lot of opportunities to develop themselves.
All of these reasons above encourage me to do some things to help the vulnerable children to get education with the hope that they will have a better lives in the future. And luckily I meet Dale Edmonds who is also very compassionated to the Cambodian Children who really need helps from us.If any of you really want to contribute charitable work for the kids, please come to Cambodia and visit Riverkids. Our website: www.riverkidsproject.org
Although working with vulnerable children and their families is a hard job, I am really satified with my mission. I am very happy if you kindly cooperate with us for vulnerable children to have a better education and better lives in the future.
Every one know that oneday we will die. This is absolutely true.So we should do something better when we are alive. So no things more important than helping children to have a better education and a better future. In turn, one generation helps the next generation to build better future for human being.
