ABOUT ME

I'm the kind of girl who will get dolled up to go to the opera on a Saturday night, then drink beer and watch football on Sunday.

If I were even remotely competent in any of the sciences, I would have gone to school for forensic science. I'm fascinated by serial killers and would love to be a forensic psychologist.

I've been known to go off on random lectures about the evolution of television.

My dream job is to be the person who decides if a particular band or artist is worthy of performing and releasing Beatles covers.

Among my personal heroes are Lucille Ball, George Carlin, Alfred Kinsey, and Dan Savage.

PHILOSOPHY

My life philosophy can be summed up in four words: Niente Senza Accade Motivo - Nothing Happens Without Reason. One day, I will get this phrase tattooed in a neat little circle somewhere on my person.

I'm a pacifist Agnostic hippie born in the wrong decade with socialist tendencies.

I believe the Allegro movement of Serenade for Winds by Mozart is the most beautiful piece of music ever written.

I believe the inclusion of the arts at all levels of education are vital for a student's overall success. I look forward to sharing my love of music with others and watching it change their lives like mine was.

I believe in peace, love, music, art, riding the train around the city with no destination, traveling, staying out all night and watching the sunrise, long walks in the woods, good beer, and good friends are what really matter in the world.

I don't believe in war, fundamentalism, racism, or violence.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I fell in love with a woman under a brisk night sky. I've drank RC Cola out of glass bottles while looking over Tallulah Gorge in Georgia. I've pet the Budweiser Clydesdale horses in St. Louis. I've made good friends of total strangers by smoking hookah and playing board games at the diner until dawn. I've sung showtunes in a bar with Alan Cumming. I've taken a train trip from Chicago to New York, and wrote down everything I saw. I've dedicated a song to someone at karaoke. I've held in my arms every person who I consider to be family and told them I love them. I've sung in Carnegie Hall. I've gone to a Post Secret event and told everyone a secret. I've been to concerts. I've been to the opera. I've traveled through most of the eastern part of the United States. I've lived in three states. I'm most excited about the things I haven't done yet.
