My name is Soren, I was raised in the United States and I'm going to travel around Europe. I live on the central coast of California in a town called Los Osos. The town is quiet and the sky is often grey. My house is just footsteps away from the shores of Morro Bay and I can always hear the roar of the ocean from my room.

I love sound; creating it, designing it, and listening. I study jazz and other music as well as audio recording at my local college. I play bass guitar, samplers, synthesizers, guitar, and I sing. I mix and master recordings in order to turn them into albums. I compose music, arrange it, and record it. I mix live music. I program synthesizers and manipulate samples; I absolutely love tinkering with sound and trying to stretch the boundaries between sound and music. I want my career to be working with sound in some way that I love.

I have been working as a pizza delivery driver for a local family restaurant called Nardonne's La Famiglia Pizzeria for the past three years. We make rich Sicilian style pizzas from scratch ingredients. (I'm a precise and focused driver however the only drivers' license I have is for California and the USA). While I'm not on the road delivering pizzas, I'm working in the kitchen coordinating other workers, making food, preparing ingredients, washing dishes, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the kitchen. My favorite part about working there is getting to drive. Driving makes me feel peaceful and free. I also enjoy keeping the restaurant a healthy and worthwhile business with all the other work that I put into it. I'm very good at communicating, cleaning, and solving problems.

I have never left North America before; my travels abroad during 2018 will be my first time off the continent. I'm interested in finding new friends, new culture, new food, new scenery, and new sounds (I will be bringing a recording device and a laptop for creating music away from home, possibly a 'playable' instrument as well). I'm open to all kinds of experiences, people, and places.

My favorite music lately has been Portugal. The Man, Led Zeppelin, Alabama Shakes, BadBadNotGood, Frank Zappa, Soul Scratch, Kamasi Washington, Hiatus Kaiyote, Josef Leimberg, Thundercat, and Tycho.

My favorite movie is The Jungle Book (1967) because of the voice acting, sound track, and animation.

My favorite book is the manual for Ableton Live music software; but since I don't want to sound dry I'll also mention the Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.
