Arab-American, early 20s, based in Libya since 2009. My father is Libyan but I knew nothing about the country before relocating, which I see as a good thing as it's given me the opportunity to learn about the country from an unbiased perspective.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm currently unable to host but I'd be very happy to share my knowledge with you. I know Benghazi quite well and might be able to show you around depending on my schedule. If you're looking for information on Benghazi, other places, or just Libya in general send me a PM and I'll try to help you out.
So far I've met a couple of CSers in Tripoli, Libya. They were both very nice guys. I ended up having to crash with one of them when it was very late and I couldn't get a ride home, he was very cool about it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to read. My favorite book is The Gulag Archipelago. I don't mind reading fiction every now and then but I prefer nonfiction.
I mainly like oldschool rock, blues, and jazz. I also like a lot of video game music. I generally don't like most modern music. I despise rap.
I don't really enjoy TV or movies very much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing people crying over dead relatives at a hospital in Benghazi in the earliest days of the Libyan uprising.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy listening to and learning from other people.
