ABOUT ME

I am from a small town in the San Juan Islands (80 mi north of Seattle), where I grew up hiking, mountain biking and being outdoors. I love to travel! I have a "go with the flow" personality and love to meet new people and try new things! Ive found some of my greatest life experiences have been through traveling and the new friends I have made along the way. I am currently living in Portland, Oregon where I am in University pursuing my Masters in Teaching degree.

Music, Movies, and Books

Although I don't play any musical instruments, listening to and discovering new music has always been a hobby. Some personal favorites: Sigur Ros, The National, Avett Brothers, Johnny Cash, Modest Mouse, the Pogues, Devotchka. But I love all types of music and especially love going to concerts that make you dance!

Teach, Learn, Share

The local Sockeye Salmon and Spot Prawn (big shrimp) fishery is unique to our area. Since high school my summer job has always been shrimping in the San Juan Islands with my Dad, and going up to Alaska fishing for salmon for five weeks. My home town is known for its seafood, boats, islands, music and festivals. I am keen to tell my story and I would love to hear yours!
