ABOUT ME

I'm the kind of person who will stare at a box like this, into which I'm meant to summarize what it is that is 'me', and get up to have a cigarette because I get tired of the internal monologue of things I could say but that don't say enough... I think life is about figuring out what you're passionate about, doing those things every day, and not hurting anyone along the way. I'm learning the guitar, I've almost started to write the book that's been kicking around in my head for years now, I avoid conflict, and help people out when I can. When I'm nervous I make jokes. When I'm happy I make better jokes. I think religion, politics, ethnicity, and philosophy are excellent things to talk about, and silly things to argue about. I'm trying too hard to sound smart. I do that sometimes...

PHILOSOPHY

Do what makes you happy. Try not to hurt anyone along the way. Seek truth. Accept love. Be honest. Avoid using big words when your point can be expressed with simple ones. 'WHY' do I live my life? What an interesting question...

I'm brand new to couchsurfing and am pretty excited by what I've seen so far. I'm travelling through Europe right now and already have a sense that it's the good people I've met that I will remember most. How convenient that this site groups a whole pile of good people together!?

Looks like I'll be repeating what I said in my 'all about you' section a bit for the next few boxes... I'm very passionate about music when it has something to say. I love to read but often find myself putting a movie in instead. I play a lot of volleyball and hope to play on a beach or two while I'm wandering. I want to learn more about philosophy and technology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove across Canada in my Jeep and stood in the middle of a river in Jasper (northern Alberta - Rocky Mountains) that was caused by mountain runoff. It was about 300m wide and never more than 40cm deep all the way across. Also I healed a squished bug with my mind once. Or was that a dream?...

Teach, Learn, Share

Never forget that your financial advisor's job, first and foremost, is to SELL you things! Even though your dvd player plays CDs, you're missing a lot if you don't have a proper CD player (speakers and receiver aside, though far from unimportant). Umm...don't eat yellow snow. If you MUST fart in a moving car, roll down the windows unless you're with very close friends, in which case, lock the windows. Man, I need to read more.
