About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience, learn, evolve

ABOUT ME

I spend much of my time in a sort of zen meditation behind an espresso machine at the local cafe. Busting out cappuccinos and lattes that would make the gods weep for their temporary beauty. When not strutting my barista stuff you can usually find me either studying (of my own accord) just about anything I can think to learn about or conversing about things we are learning together with fellow human-bodied critters. I love life and all of its paradoxical subtleties, enchantments, desires, and spaces. I want to see and enjoy as much of it as I can. Yeah.

PHILOSOPHY

we are all multi-faceted and multi-functional. we should spend our lives exploring all of those functions and facets of ourselves, destroying those founded in dubious cultural and societal practices while polishing and honing those that we find to be true facets and functions of our own being. While constantly learning, growing, evolving we must maintain the balance of study, pleasure, and obligation of desire. What happens when we perfectly balance study, pleasure, and obligation of desire? I don't know, I'll tell you if I ever find out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can offer couches and floor space for traveling folk. I can help feed you and offer a space to rest until it is time to move on.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the hospitality of strangers throughout most of my life. Coming from a family that was constantly moving about and who's career was a trucking company I have found in myself a desire to go seek out new spaces and fulfill those desires that keep me moving in my own adult life.

Interests

I guess you could say that the potentiality is there for me to be interested in pretty much anything. If the subject presents itself I cannot see myself brushing it off as trivial if someone else feels that it is worth my time. However, some special interests are the study of political and anti-political theory, gender theory, sex/sexuality, womens studies, mysticism, herbal healing, arts and crafts, fashion

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

there is so much to tell, so much has been seen. I cannot offer a single event that was more profound or amazing than the next. Once I watched a flower bloom, just sat there watching it for most of the day. Another time I watched a friend get tackled and brutalized by the police just for walking in the road. I have seen 51 year old uncles propose marriage to their 18 year old nieces. I have seen a loved one die. I have met a new friend from the womb. None of these things really stands out as more spectacular than the next, just different really.

Teach, Learn, Share

when hitchhiking it is good to have a buddy, or at least a pocket knife or pepper spray.

Always be alert. Don't feel obligated to take any ride that stops for you. Feel out each potential ride and take it easy. You should give yourself plenty of time to travel by hitch hiking, as you may not make it very far in a day sometimes.

Always bring too much water and dried fruit and nuts.

also, signs work better than you might think...so do sexy clothes.

Remember that if at any time the ride begins to become uncomfortable you can get out. You ARE hitch hiking remember...you can get another ride, and you shouldn't be in a hurry anyway. The important thing is to feel safe. If someone is sketching you out, don't be afraid to ask them to pull over at the next exit ramp.
