À propos de moi

I was born in Cologne and kept coming back or staying, since I still find incredibly many beautiful sides and new details about my hometown and I guess this will never stop.
Travelling by bike or backpacking is my favourite way to explore other destinations. Maybe my best experience was the 9 months I took after uni to travel Southeast-Asia and South America. As much as I like exploring new destinations, I guess I'm considered rather shy or observing in the beginning with new people... maybe my friends would wish this stage back to stop my talking and generating ideas and nonsense. All the same, I make an effort to be attentive and considerate.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Being completely new to Couchsurfing and not knowing CS reality, I like the idea of sharing the inside perspective of places and cultures, and of contributing to what I find.

Centres d'intérêt

Travelling, literature, movies, comedy, sports (active more than passive, only sport I watch on telly is soccer), theatre, music (listening, as my haunting teenage piano-playing 'skills' have long faded away), boardgames and live games, wildlife, nature and landscapes, arts... and of course I'm interested in all that matters to the people close to my heart.
Plus I enjoy getting to know new things I know nothing about yet... quite difficult to try and list those, however.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

My favourite music depends highly on my situation, I tend to have playlists titled "2015jan_making changes" or the like, and when I go through them later I remember exactly how it was then. Some all-time favourites are U2, Herbert Groenemeyer, Ronan Keating's Winter Songs and maybe even Phil Collins' ballads, plus Mendelssohn's and Tschaikovsky's violin concerts, Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Mozart's Magic Flute. And the heartwarming songs in kölsch (my hometown dialect) that sound disturbingly alien to everyone non-native to Cologne... sample "Et jitt kein Wood" (Cat Ballou), "Du" (Blääck Fööss) or "Stääne" (Klüngelköpp) on youtube, if available in your country.
Some of the books I best enjoyed were Hermann Hesse's "Demian", the Discworld-novels by Terry Pratchett, Shakespeare's comedies, the love poems by Erich Fried, crime fiction by P.D. James, Elizabeth George, Val McDermid and Tana French, the Harry Potter books and various chick lit volumes that make me lough out loud in trains or feature highly realistic romantic love stories.
This years and last years favourite movies were "Pawn Sacrifice", "Colonia Dignidad" and "Codename U.N.C.L.E" plus the German movie "Seitenwechsel". Best film ever-ever in the whole world to me is "Love actually", some other favourites I repeatedly enjoyed were "Spectre" and "Inception".

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I guess I'm crap at teaching anything (which doesn't stop me giving it an enthusiastic try if needs must), but I enjoy learning pretty much everything, as long as there is no exam in the end ;).
