About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to challenge myself in a new life in France, mastering the language while teaching English to high schoolers, other half of mission: to relax, embrace la joie de vivre, and have a blast!

ABOUT ME

I am kind, easy-going, and adventurous, easy-going in that I can have fun during a good conversation over tea or going out and partying with great people, adventurous in that I am up to challenging myself and experiencing new things. I can also be stubborn, but only about things I feel strongly about. One of my goals in life is to swim in as many waterfalls as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to hold myself to living up to the best of my abilities and following through with my dreams, try not to judge others, and love meeting people and learning about their passions and goals. On a side note, I also think bodies of water are important to happiness in general (lakes, creeks, rivers, oceans, waterfalls).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think CS is an amazing idea that brings together many awesome people from all over the world, a very good way to add a diversity personal connections to life, travel and adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fairly new to CS, but so far I have had 2 really good experiences surfing in Montpellier and Paris, and have close friends who have hosted and been hosted several times, and always have a good, welcoming experience. We have no real space for people to sleep in our apartment in France, but if anyone is ever in St-Lo, please feel free to stop by for some tea, cidre, wine, etc!

Interests

I love the mountains and old architecture (though I am in no way an expert on it). I love traveling, lounging by fires, watching allll sorts of movies, hiking, and IPA beer! ...and am interested in environmental law.

Music, Movies, and Books

too hard to specify movies and music, but the last 2 books I read were "Thirteen Moons" by Charles Frazier and "A Year of Living Biblically: One man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible" by A.J. Jacobs

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A random but amazing experience for me was working as a park ranger and cave tour guide for a summer in the world's 4th longest and most complex cave.
