ABOUT ME

I'm an au pair right now in Germany and I've been here since the beginning of September 2007 and I will be staying until early June 2008. Every month I'd like to see a different city for a few days (probably a long weekend fri-mon). I'm pretty easy going and when I get home I'd love to share my couch if anybody really would want to stay in rural Ohio. :) But I enjoy going out for drinks with friends, reading, wasting time doing nothing online, being outside, and yeah usually up for whatever. I'd really appreciate people to be able to show me around the cities where I stay, since I have such limited time it would be really nice to hear an experienced perspective on where I should go during my stay.

PHILOSOPHY

why do you live your life? that got kind of heavy fast, i suppose i live it to enjoy the ride, not very sure right now where i will end up, but i think thats the fun part. i like to have a good time and enjoy myself with friends and music, art, politics, reading (love the new york times), and yeah whatever else interesting that might be around.

for questions such as these i usally want to try to be funny and then i get frustrated because i remember that i'm not that funny, but at least i amuse myself

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to offer my couch when I get home to Ohio, but I really can't now. And I'd really appreciate tours of a city and coffee or drinks. Also a friend has already taken me to a Frankfurt surfer meeting and that was fantastic, what a great atmosphere and cool people, I'm very excited to become more involved.

yeah pretty laid back, I'll try anything once. Don't really care much for being lazy and dumb people annoy me, but other than that I'm probably at least moderately interested.

Music, Movies, and Books

fav movie = american beauty
also a big fan of dumb adolescent boy humor type movies
music = everything from classical to Zepplin, not much for pop crap and the radio, love the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes, Elliot Smith...etc etc
books = really love current events and staying informed, historical fiction and nonfiction and i've loved every book about politics that i've ever read, fav book would have to be Poisonwood Bible, fantastic read

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Paris not too long ago and sitting under the Eiffel Tower provided me with one of the most amazing people watching experiences I've ever had, the atmosphere was simply amazing.
