Join Couchsurfing to see John’s full profile. It’s free!
SPECIAL NOTE: I get two or three couch requests per day. Sadly, I decline nearly all of them; simply because they have not read the 'My Home' section of my profile. Don't be lazy, CS'ers.
To sail around the world
Sailing junkie, liveaboard, jobless with no prospects of rejuvenating any ambition, responds to offers of cold beer, terrified of commitment, relapsed vegetarian (well I was one when I couldn't afford meat), born again agnostic, supporter of nothing in particular...
I don't have a plan and I am sticking too it.
Dreaming is fine. Memories are better.
There is no such thing as a foreigner. Only travellers visiting a new country.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will offer a berth in the spare cabin on my boat for two nights. The berth is a double, so only suitable for couples or a single person and is en-suite.
I have arranged several CS BBQ's and meetings and started the group called A Couch on a Boat.
I've now hosted & surfed & met for coffee a few times. It's been brilliant fun on every occasion.
HOSTED- Maria Gaston Betran- Dan Cortazio- Andy Findlay- Ailee- Guy Woods (Surfed & Hosted) - Ralf & Inga - Anthony Gordon (Surfed & Hosted)
COFFEE or BEERS- Joan Amato- Kaisal- Ron Llewellyn- Ana Londero- Juliana Wallace- Rita Fernandez\>Plus a loads of other (am too lazy to add more links...
Scuba, snorkelling, sailing, travelling, photography, guitar, sitting around the BBQ solving the problems of the planet with the aid of beer or two.
I live for travelling, sailing and live music. I hope to visit at least 100 countries before I die. So far, I have visited 44.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies are for people that cannot read.
Bring on more music, good books and travel of course.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Sailed across the Atlantic single handed in the hurricane season. The strongest wind I had was only 18 knots.
- Walked 100km along the Great Wall of China. It's all steps.
- Walked the Machu Pichu trail.
- Spent 5 days kayaking in Antarctica.
