PHILOSOPHY
I will define this in a technical way: I do not know why I came into being. I only know that I am compelled to survive and perpetuate my existence as long as possible by common means. I find that though I am uncertain as to the ultimate purpose of my or anyone's existence, the general consensus is that joy and pleasure are good things, so I seek those out. And that existence is not just arbitrary, that there IS a reason. I just don't know the ultimate answer, and I suppose the ultimate answer is unknowable, as it's impossible to know absolute truth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I learned of Couchsurfing from two veteran members here, and I like the concept. I can appreciate the willingness of fellow members to open up their "couches" to travellers. Thus, I try to return the favor to the community by doing the same. While I don't presently have a "couch" available, I intend to have one available in the next few months.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Technically, I have only Couchsurfed once. I spent two days with a friend while I was waiting on a layover in Los Angeles. I stayed at his place for two days and walked around the city and saw many interesting things. It was interesting and exciting.
Interests
It's hard to define my interests. I am a full time college student majoring in business, so I guess that counts. Tangible interets of mine include:
- recycling
- electric cars
- Couchsurfing
- performing arts
- partying
- cars
- drawing
- business
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
- Rocky series
- Breakfast Club
- Matrix Trilogy
- When I see it, Star Wars series
Music:
- Virtually anything 80s, especially New Wave
- Most European metal bands
- I can tolerate most music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Okay, just ONE thing I've seen or done which I qualify as amazing? Well here goes: Back several years ago, I had a bad bout of depression. During this time I searched within myself questions as to the purpose of life, the nature of existence, and the point of everything. I concluded that there is a purpose to life, that we aren't born into existence arbitrarily without a purpose. However, I also concluded that it's impossible to know the ultimate truth or knowledge. Humans can postulate as to why things are the way they are, but there is always a more rudimentary level of understanding than the one we draw. We can only conclude a finite amount of understanding of anything, but there is an infinite measure of knowledge and levels of everything.
That conclusion I came to above is probably the most amazing epiphany I've experienced.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach, learn, share? I assume this means share what practical or technical skills and/or knowledge one might possess. Very well. I am able to share/teach the following:
- Fluency in English (obviously)
- Fluency in Español (Spanish)
- A high literacy of computers (I might be able to get rid of that virus plaguing your computer)
- A basic knowledge of car repair (I can perform basic maintenance like changing oil, air filters, etc, but I'm so so on more advanced things.)
- Anything University related I might be able to help you with, depending on the course.
